Saturday, August 14 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Check out the top back to school styles for children of all ages! This show will feature outfits and accessories from Charlotte Russe, The Gap, Gap Kids, Gymboree, Journeys Kidz, Claire’s Boutique, Lenscrafters and more!

St. Jude Radiothon

Thursday, August 26 and Friday, August 27 from 5:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. daily Independence Mall will be hosting the 13th Annual WWQQ St. Jude Radiothon at center court. This event will raise money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude’s facility specializes in childhood illness, is a pioneer in this field of research, and has never billed a parent for treatment of their child. This event is a great opportunity for you to make a difference in a family’s life.

2nd Annual Canstruction

Saturday, August 28 – Wednesday, September 8 The Wilmington Section of the American Institute of Architects will hold the 2nd Annual Canstruction event in the mall. Six teams will be creating structures made entirely of cans in the Sears wing and the “canstructions” will remain on display through Labor Day weekend. All food used for the structures will be donated afterwards to Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. Interested in donating to this cause? Bring at least two cans to Chick-fil-A in the Food Court prior to the event and you will receive a coupon for a free chicken sandwich!

Claire’s Shopping Parties

Schedule a Sunday evening after hours shopping party at Claire’s for all your wedding accessory needs. Groups are allowed to bring their dresses and try on jewelry and other accessories to match. A group discount will be granted on all purchases. Call 452-9501 to book your party and start shopping!
